Habitat for Humanity/7 Rivers Maine brings families and communities in need together with volunteers and resources to build, rehab, repair and weatherize homes.
About Us

On Sunday, January 27th, Habitat for Humanity / 7 Rivers Maine gathered at an event hosted by Thornton Oaks Retirement Community to recognize volunteers who built, weatherized, repaired or rehabilitated homes or worked in the Habitat offices or ReStore over the past year.

The theme for the event was "Hats Off to Volunteers" and Habitat volunteers engaged in a variety of games, including "Pin the Hat on the Regular Volunteer", "Dress the Construction Worker", "Guess the Number of Nails in a Jar", and "Toss the Hard Hat".

Pastor Margo Carmines of Dresden-Richmond United Methodist Church offered a blessing. Prospective homeowner Denise Ranger, whose house is currently being built in Richmond, spoke to attendees about the fulfillment of the dream of a home for her and her daughter.

Event host Thornton Oaks Retirement Community is a homeowners' cooperative offering private homes and apartments in 29 wooded acres in Brunswick. Thornton Oaks is affiliated with MidCoast Health Services.
