Dear Habitat Friends,
I am writing to provide an update about the measures Habitat for Humanity/7 Rivers Maine is taking to protect our volunteers, staff, customers, and the people we serve during the COVID-19 pandemic.
The measures are based on guidance from national, state and local public health authorities, and Habitat for Humanity International. We will continue to monitor the situation and make changes as new information becomes available.
Given the current circumstances in the state and our local area Habitat has made the following changes:
- Our affordable housing programs (both New Home Construction and Weatherizing & Repair) are suspended.
- As of Tuesday, March 17th our Topsham ReStore is closed and will remain closed for the foreseeable future.
- Doors to Habitat’s administrative offices are closed to the public. Staff will be working remotely as much as possible and will respond to your emails and phone calls as soon as possible.
- All community meetings are cancelled and our Board will be meeting remotely
- The scheduled date for Habitat’s Spring Walk to Build event will be reassessed in two weeks. At that time we will decide whether to move the date of this critical event to later in the spring.
We are hopeful that as a community if we all work together to “flatten the curve” and reduce the spread of COVID-19 now we will soon all be able to resume our normal lives and activities.
In partnership,
Adam Lacher, Executive Director adam@habitat7rivers.org
