TITLE: ReStore Associate
STATUS: Part Time or Full Time depending on availability
REPORTS TO: ReStore Manager
HOURS: 25-40 hours per week
RATE: $16-18/hour
BENEFITS: 19 accrued paid days off (FTE only), plus 16 paid holidays (FTE only), and an IRA with 3% affiliate match 

The Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers ReStore, located in Bath, Maine, seeks a Sales Associate who will assist the ReStore Manager in daily operations of the HFH7RM ReStore. The ideal candidate demonstrates a “can-do” attitude, a high degree of flexibility in this ever-changing work environment and readily follow directions. Individuals with initiative and efficiency are what we seek.  Having energy, a sense of gratitude and fun are a must! This is a part to full time position 25-40 hours per week.

Overview

Habitat for Humanity 7 Rivers Maine is a locally governed non-profit organization focused on improving homeownership opportunities for families with limited incomes as well as repairing, weatherizing and modifying existing homes. Our service area includes Lincoln and Sagadahoc Counties, as well as Greater Brunswick and Harpswell, Maine.

The sale of donated items at the ReStore yields funds needed to build houses and complete repairs and weatherization projects to keep people in their existing homes. Additionally, the ReStore helps keep items out of landfills through the sale of new and used building materials, hardware, appliances, and furniture. The ReStore is home to a large, diverse group of dedicated volunteers who are at the heart of the Habitat for Humanity mission.

 

Required qualifications:

*High school graduate or GED recipient

*At least one year of paid retail sales experience, preferably in a home or building products industry

*Operation of a Point-of-Sale system including register cash in/out. Familiarity with Square a big plus.

*Ability to bend, reach, climb a ladder and stand for extended periods of time

* Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. frequently

*Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and effectively managed multiple tasks

*Excellent customer service skills

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

*Keeping donated items organized and prepping them for the sales floor

*Helping unload donations from our truck

*Pre-screen walk-in donations

*Assist loading and unloading items from customer vehicles

*Help maintain a clean and organized ReStore

*Able to fill in as Donation Driver Assistant occasionally

*Operation of a Point-of-sale system

*Answering customer phone calls

*Assist in training new volunteers on policy and procedures

*Other duties as assigned by ReStore Manager

 

Desired Attributes:

*Loves organizing and solving problems

* Paid and/or volunteer experience in non-profit, warehouse or delivery industry

*Self-motivated, reliable and exercises sound judgment.

*Basic computer skills for Microsoft Office

*Enjoys physical work and a relaxed work environment.

*Experience and knowledge of basic home repairs and maintenance

*Use of light power tools, hand tools and knowledge of appliances is beneficial as well as a willingness to learn.

*Willingness to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings and Saturdays
